Still I rise by Maya Angelou

Once in a while, a girl needs still I rise by Maya Angelou. When Haters hate, a girl needs to read this.

Still I Rise

  by Maya Angelou
You may write me down in history
With your bitter, twisted lies,
You may trod me in the very dirt
But still, like dust, I'll rise.

Does my sassiness upset you?
Why are you beset with gloom?
'Cause I walk like I've got oil wells
Pumping in my living room.

Just like moons and like suns,
With the certainty of tides,
Just like hopes springing high,
Still I'll rise.

Did you want to see me broken?
Bowed head and lowered eyes?
Shoulders falling down like teardrops,
Weakened by my soulful cries?

Does my haughtiness offend you?
Don't you take it awful hard
'Cause I laugh like I've got gold mines
Diggin' in my own backyard.

You may shoot me with your words,
You may cut me with your eyes,
You may kill me with your hatefulness,
But still, like air, I'll rise.

Does my sexiness upset you?
Does it come as a surprise
That I dance like I've got diamonds
At the meeting of my thighs?

Out of the huts of history's shame
I rise
Up from a past that's rooted in pain
I rise
I'm a black ocean, leaping and wide,
Welling and swelling I bear in the tide.

Leaving behind nights of terror and fear
I rise
Into a daybreak that's wondrously clear
I rise
Bringing the gifts that my ancestors gave,
I am the dream and the hope of the slave.
I rise
I rise
I rise.

Just some Godly motivation

I was at home for the long heritage day weekend, So I was watching my pastor on t.v and I heard him say this.

During a bad economy, whenyou get a job, God gets all the glory, whereas in a good economy when you get a job, its the economy that gets a job.

Amazing, I needed to hear that, I'm sure youd did to.

love you all.

2 Corinthian 12:9
Each time he said, "My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness." So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me.

He's so creative

One thing I've been recently learning about God is that he's creative. From the old testament to the new, he displays his creative power. He's miracles are never the same for every person.

In the old testament we see this in the two miracles of water gushing out of a rock. In the first water miracle God told Moses to hit the rock and water would come out, and indeed it did. Then later on God told Moses to speak to the rock and water would come out, but instead Moses hit the rock ( We've all expected God to do something in a manner which he did it in the past, we're so wrong). Because of his disobedience God didn't allow him to enter the promised land. (Exodus 17:6) (Numbers 20:9-12)

In the new testament Jesus healed people with the same afflictions differently. In Matthew 9:29 Jesus touches the eyes of two blind men in order to heal them. Then in John 9:6 Jesus creates mud from saliva and spreads the mud over the mans eyes in order to heal him.

So what have I learn't about God being creative with regards to my life? I've learn't that my journey will never be like someone else's. He's already planned my life (Jer29:11) and his plan for my life is unique and it's been tailor made to suit me. Also his process or manner of provision for me will not be the same as some one else (like the story of the blind men) and the manner in which he provides sometimes changes (like the story of Moses and the gushing water)

Isaiah 43:18
" Do not (earnestly) remember the former things, neither consider the things of old. (19) Behold, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs forth; do you not perceive and know it, and will you not give heed to it. I will even make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the dessert."

Being blessed with a talent.

What God says you are, is what you really are.

Dream it, He can do it.

God requires us to be hardworking.

V3"When the foolish one's took their lamps, they did not take extra olive oil with them. V4 But the wise ones took flasks of olive oil with their lamps." Matthew 25: 3 -4

As we know about the story is that the oil lamps of the foolish virgins went out, the wise one's were able to go into the wedding party because their lamps were still burning, but the foolish were left out while they were going to buy oil.
I heard a teaching by Joyce Meyer and she said that those who do the extra work will be rewarded, they're the one's who will be promoted and get the good marks & jobs. matt 25:3" did not take extra olive oil" You are foolish if you do not do the extra work needed for success.

Proverbs 6: 6-11
Go to the ant you sluggard ; consider it's ways and be wise! 7 It has no overseer or ruler, 8 yet it stores it's provisions in summer and gathers it's food at harvest. 9 How long will you lie there you sluggard? When will you get up from your sleep? 10 A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest--11 and poverty will come on you like a bandit and scarcity like an armed man."
What more could I say to that... sure is a wake up call for hard work.

That was some much needed motivation from God's word.

Watch what you say.

I needed to know this

I miss home, only because staying with my mom was one of the most comfortable time's of my life. So leaving my comfort zone was hard. I saw this wallpaper and it was comforting. So instead of looking back I'm going to leave the shore, if the seas get rough , I will not look back.

All things are possible with God.

let the weak say I am strong-Joel 3:10

Oh the wisdom that comes from the bible.

Faith is talking about what you want to be, not what you are.

Speak the solution and not the problem. The more you say it, the more you'll believe it, and when you believe it, it manifests ( Mark 9:23) "All things are possible to him who believes. All meaning nothing is excluded.

"Let the weak say I am strong"-Joel 3:10. The bible doesn't say let the weak say I'm weak. It says those who are weak must say they are strong. Speak What you want to see, not what you see.

Feminine yet strong.

Whenever I think about being a strong woman I'm reminded of Alicia Keys song, superwoman.

In the bible we're told countless of times that we should be strong. Here's one of my favourite bible verses.

John 16:33

Amplified Bible (AMP)

33I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace and confidence. In the world you have tribulation and trials and distress and frustration; but be of good cheer [take courage; be confident, certain, undaunted]! For I have overcome the world. [I have deprived it of power to harm you and have conquered it for you.]

Strength is a requirement as we live out our lives in this unpredictable world. when times get tough we should move, push forward through the rain & tears.

You have caused men to ride over our heads ; we went through fire and through water ; but you bought us out into a wealthy place. Psalm 66:12 KJV

We will go through trouble times, if we go through them and not turn back, at the end of the troubles we will reach a place of wealth.

Isaiah 43:2 NKJV

2When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, and they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, nor shall the flame scorch you.

God promises us that we can go through fire (trouble time, tribulations) but they will not harm us (Isaiah 43:2).

And when we've gone through these troubling times we'll come out into wealth.

For us women, we normally think that strength is for men. However we are all called by

God to be strong during trying times, we are still to look feminine and take care of ourselves beautifully.

I think another thing that we should adopt is to watch people who we tell our problems.

I believe that we shouldn't tell people our problems. This is something I'm still learning.

The person we need to tell our problems to is God.

He won't tell anyone and he is the only person who can solve them.

I'm reminded of a time when I was so depressed and down. I wanted to give up. My moth

er pushed me to hold on. When I did stay, and hold on, things became better.

They only became better because of my prayers to God. God did things for me I could have never imagined.

One of the things I do, is that I smile, look good, even through the trying times. I keep myself feminine beautiful and neat

My one friend said , that a duck glides through water but you'd never guess how hard they paddling with their legs underneath.

So this year is the year of superwoman.

Where we will be going to a place of wealth.
